It's Cookie Time!

Last year Chicken, Ashes, and I decided we were going to make a gingerbread house.

This singular gingerbread house turned into a gingerbread village apocalypse.

 while Ezio from Assassin's Creed and Katniss Everdeen team up.

A sparkly Edward Cullen  flies in to save the day.

Run Away!

So much fun!  Last year we had a blast, and did a pretty awesome job considering it was just a spur of the moment and we had limited supplies.  Most of them were actually leftovers from my big December bake off a few days earlier.  

But this year, gingerbread day was planned weeks in advance.  With weeks to prepare and all four of us teaming our creativity together, we were determined to make this year's gingerbread village bigger and better!

Let the Gingerbread Games begin!

We started by baking a crazy amount of assorted cookies, some were custom shapes. 

Can you find the reindeer and whale's tail?

Then we started assembling the icing and candies.

Then we took assorted scrapbook paper and created the backdrop.

This year's them was fantasy mixed with the Hunger Games.

Can you see the sprinkles in the clouds and flag?

It took nearly two days, but here are some photos of the finished village.

There's so much going on!

Godzilla is attacking the city, but have no fear- Sailor Moon is there!

The Umbrella Corporation also made a small reoccurring role this year.

Mothra is attracted to The Bat Signal.

Lumpy Space Princess

The kraken attacks the Black Pearl,

as Ariel wants to be apart of their world,

a hobbit lazily floats along,

and Jaws looks hungry.

Mario is found a pipe!

Looks like somebody forgot their sunscreen.

While an assassin from Assassin's Creed 

takes a flying leap in the background.

A trio of bad guys!

Smaug the terrible,

the Wicked Witch of the West,

and Voldemort;

boy I hope they don't form an alliance.

On The Black Pearl, Captain Hook goes fishing

while Captain America tries to fight off the kracken.

There's a whale's tail behind the ship,

 a giant duck beside it,

and Finnick, from the Hunger Games, 

running at the kracken from the beach.

Gandalf goes to Hobbiton, ready to start another adventure.

Kantiss Everdeen catches dinner, oh, no; is that Rudolph!?!

The Joker is laughing as Miley comes in on a wrecking ball.

007 and  and Santa team up to save the city.

 It was  a lot of work, but so much fun!  

I wonder what our theme should be next year, hmmm.
